Default Indicator / signal lights stuck on

Hi guys,

I returned to my car in the garage at work today and my indicator / signal lights were illuminated. They weren't flashing like hazard lights but we permanently on. The headlight switch was in the Off position. The door wouldn't open with the fob so I had to use the key. I turned the headlights on and off and then started the car.

It started fine and the lights went out. Seems fine now.

Any ideas what caused this?

Thanks
David

Presumably these went on when you locked the car and fail to go off. I am not sure what causes them to blink when locking/unlocking the car, could it be the door locking module in the trunk?

That could be the case. I always look at the car as I walk away but I distinctly remember I didn't do that this morning.

I would suggest you immediately check the rear 'trunk' well for water. Get under the car and gently slice an X into the center of the black rubber plugs below the area I call the 'trunk' (rearward of the differential at the lowest point of the bottom of the hatch area below the foam blocks below the carpet covering the tire kit/jack, from under the car you'll see the two rubber plugs, one on either side). If you slice that X into either one and water is present, you need to address the issue right away. Let us know!
