I have just purchased a crossfire and have a very strange electrical issue with the vehicle. First off in one of my other posts I explained that the vehicle will act like the key is in the run position when the light selector is place placed in any position other than off while you are pressing the brake pedal down. Once you release the pedal it turns off. However today I found another issue. While the lights are off and I apply the brakes the brake lights will light up as rhwy should and the bulb indicator on the dash will illuminate as long as the pedal is pressed. Now when you turn the selector to running lights or all lights on the brake lights illuminate as if the pdeal is pressed as well as the dash light is constantly illuminated . Any ideas on this?

 

Your problem seems to be pointing to the brake light switch. Does the "reminder" start beeping, with your foot on the brake, the light switch on an no key in the ignition?

 

You are best to keep all your questions in one thread or you will not get any answers from some people as they cannot keep up with previous answers.

 

It will start beeping once the selector is moved with a no key in the ignition. However once the brake pedal is pressed with the selector in any other position than off you can heard the fuel pump prime and the vehicle acts as though the ignition is is the on position.

 

My apologies for that. The brake issue was brought to my attention today at work and i hadnt place it in the other posting

 

Well i figured out what the culprit of this whole issue. The previous owner had the wrong bulb for the stoplight on one side. Bought the correct bulb and installed it which fixed all of the issues. Never would have though an improper bulb would cause such issues but i am glad that it was a simple fix

 

If you think THAT was a strange electrical issue, you have not owned a Crossfire very long (or have been VERY lucky so far).

 

Hahahaha. So i take it im in for alot of head scratching and swearing? A long long time ago i purchased a 1990 Audi coupe quattro which at 20 years old i had no business owning. The nightmare of issues that could plague the car were tremendous. No one in Central New York had seen one let alone worked on one. And this was before you could find a forum for help. Needless to say i spent many days trying to fix one issue.
