Does anyone have any experience dealing with the outside driver door handle/lock?

Can just the lock cylinder be exchanged into another handle without affecting the handle parts? I see variations for sale on eBay without the lock, but part of the handle is missing as well.
Can you remove the lock cylinder from item #1?

Sorry, one of the few things ,I haven't had apart.

 

Neve had to touch them or look at them but the service manual is a bit vague to me.
Maybe one day I'll have to come to grips with them though.

 

So here is what I learned today after the mailman delivered.

The lock cylinder can be removed from the handle assembly using a drift punch to remove two pins. See pics.

If you need a new door handle, the cylinder can be switched out so your same key will work.

The right and left pull handles are the same.

 

Now that's progress. I'll file that!
