Headlight pointing too low
Hi guys,
I have noticed that my headlights are pointing so low that I can barely see the light on the ground in front of me as I'm driving and looking over the bonnet.
Can anyone please advise how I can manually adjust the headlight cluster so that I can restore some vision by furthering the 'throw', as well as restoring my sanity?
Please help!

Oh, if anyone has access to a maintenance PDF file, website, or YouTube clip that might help, please let me know of the URL so I can browse to it and check it out.

First Be sure the light bulb is in the socket correctly as in the picture in the post above by Mrmiata. Ninety percent of the time that will cure the problem. If you must adjust vertical beam of your headlights it is done by turning the **** located in the center of the light housing (between the two bulbs), turning counter clockwise will raise the beams. Adjustment horizontally is done by turning the **** located on the high beam side of the housing(closer to the vehicles center). Turning that **** counter clockwise will move the beam towards the right. Keep the beams pointed down and to the right. DO NOT point the beams straight ahead or too high as you will blind oncoming cars. The ***** may be covered with a cap which you will have to remove. Use an allen wrench to reach into the plastic tips of the ***** to turn them.

Zip439, thanks again for this information.
Is it possible that you might be able to take a photo and detail which dia/**** I should be turning to raise the low-beam's height?
Thank you so much.

If the adjuster was turned too far up and the threads popped the adjuster out of the socket. Simply turn clockwise slowly until you feel a pop now the adjuster is back in socket. If bulbs are seated properly turn counter clockwise until aimed properly.
There is not much point in having the low beam correct with the high beam aimed at the stars.
And a portion of your knowledge is worth 1,000 dollars if I were to take the car to the store.
Thank you so much Mrmiata, sincerely appreciate it.
Doh, my light cluster has an electric adjuster on it instead of the turn dial/****...
This is in turn restricting myself from adjusting the height above the 1/2 person setting...

Anyway, how is the high beam, too low or OK?
You have just mentioned this problem, is it a new problem or an old one?

Hi onehundred80,
The high beam appears to be a little on the low side also. Hence, if there's a way to manually adjust the overall headlight cluster upwards, that would be most ideal.
Yes, the Crossie that I have is an Australian delivered 2004 model.
This is not a new post, but I just haven't been logged into the forum for a while...
Thank you.
