I'd like to see how it looks when you get done Tom.

Gentlemen - I'm way behind on a follow-up to this posting. Has anyone tried a silver paint like that which surrounds the windshield, or that on the wheels? I'm just wondering if the silver might be good and if anyone has tried that. Love to hear anyone's thought's.

The wheel silver paint will almost match the silver strips on the stock grille. The lighter wheel silver contains a little more metallic. I repainted another stock grille with a special silver metallic paint ( Same metallic content as Billto's mentioned above) that looked great on a lighter colored Crossfire, an Alabaster White model. I believe it wouldn't look good on a darker color Crossfire, to much of a contrast with the body color.

Dennis - Thanks for that perspective. My Coupe is the metallic red, I think called inferno red or something like that. What do you think of a matt black for the grill and the silver cross pieces? Actually, mine is the stock color grille but I did cover the aluminum cross pieces with a chrome mylar covering. Doesn't look bad, in my opinion. (just an opinion)

I'm the kind of person that like's to have something just a little bit different than everybody else. Nothing wild or freaky, but tastefully different. I'm not real turned on with the replacement mesh or square tube grille's. Seems like something can be done with a little creativity. I even wondered about trying to take a Chrysler 300 grill and reshape to fit the XF opening. Or, a 74 Vega grill, (another mesh) and reshape to fit the XF.

This is where I'm coming from. Hope I live long enough to accomplish something on this. I really think, though, that something can be done with the stock grille to enhance it's appearance.

Your comments and ideas are welcome.
