i've checked through the search and couldn't find exactly what i have going on..bulb out indicator light came on...it was the driver side brake light.changed out bulb with another 7528 bulb..no matter what i try the brakes illuminate the running light filament;all lights worked fine before i replaced the brake bulb.contacts are clean,no contacts are touching and the bulb holder is getting power.do i not have bulb clocked right???

 

 

thanks for the fast reply!i just double checked to verify i had the right bulb;i will go out and turn the bulb and try again.

 

ok...i get the bulb in...parking light filament lights when i put parking lights on...hit the brakes and no brake light still and after i let off the pedal the parking light goes out..ugh.

 

in case anyone runs into the same problem....it could be your socket.in my case i believe this is the problem.

 

have you tried a different bulb?

 

yes i have.had the mrs. hit the brakes...it lights up the parking light filament;and when you hit the brakes with the parking lights on the bulb goes out until you let off the brake.i double checked to make sure nothing in the socket was touching each other.i went to the u pull it yard and got another socket.i unplugged the whole lamp housing and stuck the three wires from the used socket into the corresponding holes for the ground,brake,and parking light and works properly;so i'm guessing something is going on inside the socket i can't see.thanks everyone for the replies.

 

Hi I had same problem remove bulb inside of socket where bulbs sit get small screw driver and bend the tabs up, replace bulb, worked for me after trying different bulbs good luck cooper16

 

thank you for the suggestion cooper.ended up being the socket itself.got a cracked taillight off of ebay for the bulb sockets/harness and swapped it in my taillight and now all is good.
