Default Door bottom rusted through - repair or need to replace full door?

2006 Crossfire Roadster with only 12800 miles. Bottom of driver door 95% rust through. Right door not as bad but definitely rusting.
CAN THE RUSTED AREA ACROSS MAJORITY OF DOOR BOTTOM BE REPAIRED (remember there is also a gasket at bottom to keep water out.) OR does full door need to be replaced? OBVIOUSLY, there must be some drain holes that must be plugged. What a frustration. And cost/inconvenience. Thanks for advice.

Of course it can be repaired , but how and cost depends on extent of rust .

Rain draining down the rear windows when the car is stationary runs forward and is then channeled into a funnel moulded into the rear of the front door seal. This water then runs down inside the front door and out some drainage holes.
I cleaned out the doors bottoms of a layer of dirt and dust and sprayed a rust preventative on door sides, bottoms and the seams between them.

I first learned of this issue in 2009, here on the forum, when I bought my first Crossfire.
To my mind, it's a design flaw, and even if it isn't, could they not have taken better steps against this in production?

The Germans don't build any better cars than we do. Dumbass design, lousy production standards and union made - a bad recipe in any country.
