On the passenger side on the edge of the headliner are the air hoses to operate the trunk,, I had the same thing so i cut the hose,, don't remember,, either blue or sucked on the hose and the trunk opens. after replacement of the pump i got a straight vac connector put the hose together and been good ever sense good luck
