Had a crack in the left headlight due to hail damage so I vinyl wrapped both of them with a light grey tint, although it looks darker in the photo. I guess I'll also do the fog lamps. This also might be a alternative to restoring the headlights

Looks great.
I had that done on my last 3 crossfires but used clear just to protect them, it works..
your state may not let u darken your headlights.. i used window it works
also used window tint a darker tint to make strips in the hood, (not on a black car of course LOL
but on my Aero Blue it looked kinda good, see through, but darker ,,got a lot of talk at a car show or two. jim
Vinyl headlight protection has been around for years. I have them on all my cars except the old pickup trucks. Once done it is complete protection. I haven't found a need to remove and re-polish the plastic headlight lens in over ten years on my Limited Crossfire. The vinyl on the wife's CLK 500 needs to be removed and a new kit installed as dirt dust has gotten around the edge of the vinyl and looks bad. We live on a dirt road. Link to Lamin-x Link to Xpel
Yes the kits can be had in clear. It is easy enough and comes with instructions. Just spray a little water ( I use distilled) peel off a protective film and apply to the car's lens. Put it on from one side or the top and wipe it as you go to force out air pockets. It looks a little rough immediately after install but, let it sit for a few days and you wont know it's there. Easy.
