Where is the trunk light switch on a roadster and how can you check that the light is out when the deck is closed?

I believe it built into the trunk latch, put your phone on video record, place it in the trunk camera lens side up while recording and close it ,wait awhile then watch the video to see if it's gone out

No way to know if that light is off once the trunk is closed
Because of this I have my bulb removed from the trunk light and the glove box
I don't need the hassle of a battery drain for a trunk light or glove box light that stays on !!!

 

Simple: Put your iPhone/cell phone on video hit record button and close the trunk. Wait 60 seconds open the trunk and see it turned into the new iPhone 16 plus. Or if the light went out.

 

The rule is:
2005-2006: If the interior light goes out, the trunk light does too. THey are wired together.
2007-2008: The Cellphone trick is the only way to KNOW it is out, as there are two circuits in the 07-08s, one for interior "dome" light and one for the trunk light.

I assume that means that on the 05 and 06 , if the trunk is open the interior lights are also on?

 

IT does, try it! In the diagram, "Cargo LIght" is the trunk light.
