Default Brake light issue

I have a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire base
The driver's side brake light is illuminated even when off and all doors closed. I removed both harnesses to the brake switch and the light would still stay illuminated. I then plugged them back in. I noticed the issue doesn't persist when the car is on. When the car is cranked, the light functions as intended when the dial for the lights is in the off position( no lights on when car is on and dial is to off).
I removed the number 10 fuse which is for the left lamp and the light immediately turns off when the car is off. I replaced it with the spare to check if it's some kind of fuse issue, but with the replacement fuse in the light immediately turns on with the car off.

I'm completely confused. The only maintenance I've done recently that is electrical is replacing the alternator.

***ADDITIONAL INFO*** The passenger side park light isn't doing this, only the driver side!?!?

What position is your headlight switch in? The OFF position is in the middle of the switch, not all the way to the left.
