Default 100px avatar size

how do some sneak 100 px-wide avatars in there profile and some have the 80- pixel wide limit? was that an early feature that got reduced or ?

not complaining, just wondering.

Hmmm... Don't know. The Profile picture can be 100 X 100 but the Avatar can only be 80 X 80 according to the info in the User Control Panel.

Mine is 72 pixels square. I went ahead and made my profile image 100 square.

I have no idea if this is governed by the administrator or a limitation of the forum software.

Yo Admin/Mod... I did a search on this subject and I'm bringing this back to
the top because there was no answer instead of starting my own thread.

So, can you explain why the difference in avatar sizes? As asked above, some
are 100x100 and others only 80x60. What's up with that?

What, no reply from admin or mod as to why the difference in avatar sizes on this forum? The original question
was asked way back on 9-08-2006 and still no answer. Geez, talk about being ignored...

Gees! Settle down. Does it really matter? Just make the image the size the system wants.

I am on two other forums using the same software and I seem to recall that the size for the avatar is the same on those.

Andrew, thanks for looking into it (and deleting the other post in the Coupe forum)....

Nothing to settle down about... I asked a simple question a few days ago, that for the original poster has gone
unanswered for almost a year. Does it matter? No, not in the overall scheme of things, but my inquisitive mind
would like to know why some are 100x100 and others are only 80x80. AND, I want my extra 20x20 pixels!!!!

I use an 80x80 and I just tried uploading one that is 100x100 and it worked. Did you make sure the picture is under 18.5kb?

Thanks for looking into it.

I've tried uploading using both features... avatar URL's, using different URL's and the from my computer
method.

The image I'm trying to upload is 100 x 62 and is only 3.0 kb, so that should not be an issue.

The image URL is: http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/7...4avatarqc7.jpg

The actual image:

But, on my edit avatar page, it shows a default size of 80 x 80...

My profile picture allows 100 x 100. Maybe you need to check on the default settings. Another thing,
it seems like XFi members have the larger avatars.
