Default cops and tickets they give

i can't stand the $%#&*@ police this is the second ticket i got in a month.
the crossfire just begs for attention and sometimes it gets the wrong kind. i tried to explain it just looks like i'm going fast because of the curves on the car. they didn't bite. and if any members on here are cops... well i don't want to be rude i'll keep it to myself.

So were you speeding and/or doing anything wrong?
Did you get 'clocked' by radar?

I've been pulled over about 5 times this year mostly for warnings like seatbelt and insurance BS. I'm getting tired of the cops myself. so far I've only got one speeding ticket, and get this... The cop didn't even use radar or laser. I fought it in court and the judge sided with the officer because he was trained to calculate the speed of vehicles, on top of that he was top of his class, so basically he's f-ing robo-cop who's brain is powerful enough to calculate a fixed distance and time duration between two fixed points, what a f-ing joke!

It's slowed me down a bit, I just been driving my old beat up work truck, I just don't feel like driving the car anymore. It's too damn crowded in LA and the cops are on your jock, not to mention everyone rides your as* or else they just want to race every 5 minutes.

maxwell i feel your pain... la traffic sucks and it feels like my car says will pay you to tailgate me. and i get the dumbest kinds of cars that try to race. i had a honda passport try to race me wtf? oh and my favorite a ford taurus. the cops dont even follow me for a few blocks then pull me over its like as soon as they see me pull over. and then ill make up something. its not like you can talk your way out of a ticket they think the crossfire is expensive and you have cash.

You should have waved at him in front of the jury (always ask for a jury trial) and ask him how fast mph your hand moved!

That is insane that they can give you a ticket because you look like you're going fast... I wouldn't think that would have any chance at all in court... but I guess I'm wrong. Sounds like they needed the money from your ticket so they can afford radar guns.

So, how fast did he clock you going and what was the speed limit?

OK, I can see getting pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt and that one is obviously easy to avoid - wear your darn seatbelt!! But how do you get pulled over for "insurance BS"? Surely you aren't just being randomly pulled over to check for your insurance, are you?

I just got a Ticket last week for a 89 in a 75 or was it 79 in a 65 mph.

Anyway, I was on a freeway behind a semi that normally carries a big tractor on it. Well today this guy had no load, but his trailer was full of dried mud and rocks which was destroying our cars. So I jumped around him and then thats when the cop got me and he seen what happened and understood that he wouldn't want his car being beat to death with rocks and dried mud, but he gave me anyway...

What a total jackas*...

ok so she says she clocked me at 51 in a 35. thats' a lie it was more like 41. any ways the ticket is 351 dollars. that's crazy and i saw her pull over thee other guys after me back to back. i feel like that was her i'm have pms day and started to give tickets out like crazzy. that and if she gave one ticket might as well give them out all day so she can set aside one court day for all of the tickets she gave. and get this if i challenge the ticket and lose i have to pay it and i lose my chance for traffic school. but if i just pay it. i can get traffic school and the ticket gets erased from my record. now that's BS.

Go to court and ask the judge for a reduction in the fine and also ask for traffic school. You may get the fine cut in half and still keep the ticket off your record with traffic school.

Not a chance they will go for that. They have this new scam at the courthouse. You can take traffic school and pay the fine and get on with your life, or else you argue your case in front of the judge, but if you lose all chances of getting traffic school are lost and you pay the fine and take it in the pants with your insurance. that's what you get if a cop says your doing 50 mph in a 35 mph zone. I guess radar detectors are a complete waste of money now, lol. Ahh justice is blind!

Well it worked for me. I got an illegal U-turn ticket and just asked the judge if the fine could be reduced. He cut it in half and threw in traffic school. Another strategy Palexfire can try is to meet with the assistant DA prior to court and accept a reduced charge with traffic school. A lot of times the DA will go for this to forego the expense of a trial. His best bet is to do research to find out his options in his city/state though.

i don't know what city you got that ticket in but here in los angeles you have to wait 2 hours just to pay the ticket i can only imagine the time i'll waste if i try to fight or get it reduced. i just asked for extension i'll pay it and traffic school. i'll have to bite the bullet on the other one i have. you can only have traffic school once every 18 months.

The city was San Diego and my fine well help pay down the multi-billion dollar pension shortfall the city is facing. Of course it helped that this was the first ticket I've gotten in almost 20 years.
