looking to replace my canon G2 ... ideas??

i have had this camera for many years of flawless operation but am ready for an update...

i am not looking for the smallest camera but not the largest either (mid size) automatic... point and shoot with high quality pics.

i use it for indoor & outdoor shots...

thanks for any advice... input or thoughts.

ps - thinking about the: Canon PowerShot SX100 IS ??

I have a Nikon D50 and I really like it. SLR lens takes great photos and you can use almost any Nikon lens old or new. I believe there up to D60 or 70 now.

If you like canon stick with it. The canon digital rebel with the slr lenses it a great camera. I use it in my in home studio with good success.

Nikon D40 - great camera, SLR, takes picture when you press button, no delay! Great pictures.

bought my wife the canon powershot sd870 for xmas (she already opened it) and she loves it. Check out dell for a really good prices (free shipping). paid about $50 less than bestbuy and circuit city and they wouldn't price match.
