Gee, and to think I donated money to the homeless this Christmas when I could have helped make someones Crossfire payment. Silly me.

I think you missed the point.

The hard truth is that coming short on a sports car payment is not a justifiable cause for charity.

No...point taken........Though I live in the Detroit suburbs......plenty of homeless here, missing your 750,000 dollar house payment when most of the houses are in the 100,000 to 250,000 range is not a justifiable cause for charity!

To some here on the forum it was actually but your donations were for a good cause as well. I started this post with the hope I could help a fellow member with unexpected medical expenses. We all love our cars and don't want to give them up if at all possible.

I dont understand why all the people that refuse to help dont just move along to another thread and leave this one alone.
No one cares if you dont want to donate or think it is a stupid idea. Move along with your life and be happy. All of the negativity on this site lately makes me not want to come here anymore.
My wife and I donate more than 25% of our salary to charity.(Plus 50% through taxes before we even see it.)
If I want to help AimeeJ that's my perogative.
AimeeJ I got off to a slow start but sent you a Christmas present Wednesday.

And when you post her inability to manage her own finances in a public forum and ask for donations, it becomes my prerogative to respond.

I could be doing a great service by unearthing a ruse.

I don't know her from Adam, and this whole thing could be planned; similar to the Nigeria scams.

If 200 forum members sent just 20.00 each she wouldn't even have to work for a living. Maybe you are in on it together or alone.. Maybe Aimee isn't even a real person.

If you are for real, why then don't you channel your desire to give to charity by organizing a registered charity to feed or educate the poor.
You help people by providing the means to help themselves.

Collecting money to make someones payment on a sports car they can't afford is ridiculous. What's next? Will you collect to pay her repair bills as well?

If you don't like what I'm saying, then find a private sand box to play in

Wake up call.

She is real , I am real and I have spoken with her , and nothing here was planned other than to help out a member who loves her Crossfire.
From the others here in the sandbox , we are staying in this sandbox.

Why do people always look at the negitive in life and helping people, The people who are helping are not stupid for doing so, they have a good heart and are looking for nothing in return, Please let it be, If you think we are stupid, read it, have a good laugh and move on....

This forum needs a way for us to just choose to block posts from people on our own screens......much like an "ignore list" in a chatroom.

Why do people feel the need to join a forum and proclaim theirselves the "moral police", thereby treating everyone else like a bunch of school children?

I got news for you jaded......many of us here on the forum have met one another, had dinners together, and attended events together. I trust many of the people I've met, or have talked to for the past year, on this forum.

BTW Jaded.....I DO know VALKRYDERGUY......I consider him a good friend....if one of my friends tells me that something is for real, I believe them. The one on this forum that I DON'T know from Adam is YOU!

We are soo lucky to have freedom of choice, so many people don't - if some members wish to help out and can afford to do so, then thats their personal choice to do what they feel is right - Remember that anyone can fall on hard times ! We work hard and play hard - but we never know what around the corner.

Oh, but we do......go under miscellaneous in your user CP and add them to the ignore list. It works great!!

BTW, if you don't respond to them or the ignore list blocks their posts from your sight, then they eventually go away since they have no one to associate with.

As danimal stated, we do have an ignore function. I have not used it, but I may start.

Also, concerning VALKRYDERGUY, I know him as well. He is a stand up guy.

WOW...Thanks Danimal! Another constructive post from a fellow veteran forum member!

I think I'll utilize that feature of the forum right now!

Again a thank you to all who have responded with knowing me and the support you have provided to confirm my credibility here. I consider you all as well my friends even if we only met on one occasion.
I look forward to the Woodward Dream Cruise and seeing many of you again.

Gary

1) So I am trying to sell my Xfire...I didn't really expect to sell it here, since you all already have one (duh, you are on the xfire forums...heh). But I am having MUCH difficulty selling it ANYWHERE. It's really depressing.

2) I am selling because it is choking me with the payments. We literally have no money at the end of the month because of it. Not to mention we are swimming in debt from some other issues that came up suddenly.

3) I just realized I can't get a loan because with two cars under my name, my credit is taxed to the limit...

4) It was a whim purchase that I should not have made, but now I am kind of eating it. I still owe 21k on it so even if someone wanted it for 18k, we would have to make the trade through the deal and I would eat what was left of the loan. But I have to do something with it, I can no longer afford to keep this car.

5) I have been working two jobs. We have moved in with my parents.

6) My last payment was due three weeks ago...and I could not pay it. They came to my house, and asked if I would rather do a voluntary repossession than an involuntary, as it would give me more time to come up with the extra money. I agreed, and every single day since then they have called me trying to see if I had the money. I have not had it.
The car is supposed to go to auction, and then I will have no choice but to pay the difference, or wreck our credit. (Which will mean that we will no longer have the option of buying a house for years...not to mention that the family we wanted to start having will be out of reach as well.) They are willing to set up payment plans with me and I will see what we can do, so here's hoping that things have cleared up by then. We are barely surviving right now, and I hate that we have to mooch off my parents to stay afloat, but it's better than the
alternative. I am so bummed. I got very attached to my car in the very short time I had it.

More Aimee quotes..To help losen your purse strings

Lol well warranty work is ALWAYS an issue. I have yet to find a car that doesn't give me issues when I try to work the warranty. But I have a second car - a Taurus - that I bought at the same dealership under the same warranty and it has been awesome with every issue we have had...hopefully it works the same for my Dirty Mary.

And I am selling, Zeracer, because it is choking me with the payments. We literally have no money at the end of the month because of it. Not to mention we are swimming in debt from some other issues that came up suddenly...so I will return to my old ZX2, if I can just sell this darn thing.
Oh thank goodness...I am rather ashamed to say I didn't research my car at all before buying it, and that comment concerned me. Good to know it is good for shopping - and yay for the big trunk!
The people that can't afford it, or can't fit in it, are the only ones that say stupid crap like that. Let them continue driving their overpriced Mercedes - my car looks ten times better and cost far less. I'll tell them where to stuff it.
Hah. So I knew my insurance would be high...I didn't think it would be a grand every 6 months.
Wow. I am seriously shocked. Darn my "high performance vehicle."
ay! Hi fellow NMer
And yes, I know I got ripped when I bought it...but I didn't know. It was a whim purchase that I should not have made, but now I am kind of eating it. I still owe 21k on it so...

We are considering renting a lotus when we go to Vegas for a day, and a Viper for the next. Maybe just cruising it in the city won't be so bad...though we will certainly roast.
