Default Help "AimeeJ" fund

This is the AimeeJ story I compiled from several of her posts:

1) So I am trying to sell my Xfire...I didn't really expect to sell it here, since you all already have one (duh, you are on the xfire forums...heh). But I am having MUCH difficulty selling it ANYWHERE. It's really depressing.

2) I am selling because it is choking me with the payments. We literally have no money at the end of the month because of it. Not to mention we are swimming in debt from some other issues that came up suddenly.

3) I just realized I can't get a loan because with two cars under my name, my credit is taxed to the limit...

4) It was a whim purchase that I should not have made, but now I am kind of eating it. I still owe 21k on it so even if someone wanted it for 18k, we would have to make the trade through the deal and I would eat what was left of the loan. But I have to do something with it, I can no longer afford to keep this car.

5) I have been working two jobs. We have moved in with my parents.

6) My last payment was due three weeks ago...and I could not pay it. They came to my house, and asked if I would rather do a voluntary repossession than an involuntary, as it would give me more time to come up with the extra money. I agreed, and every single day since then they have called me trying to see if I had the money. I have not had it.
The car is supposed to go to auction, and then I will have no choice but to pay the difference, or wreck our credit. (Which will mean that we will no longer have the option of buying a house for years...not to mention that the family we wanted to start having will be out of reach as well.) They are willing to set up payment plans with me and I will see what we can do, so here's hoping that things have cleared up by then. We are barely surviving right now, and I hate that we have to mooch off my parents to stay afloat, but it's better than the alternative. I am so bummed. I got very attached to my car in the very short time I had it.

All the posts can be seen at the following three links:

That's the story up to date. with that said I ask.....

So who here will help AimeeJ ??

I decided to try and get some members including myself who might be in better financial shape to help AimeeJ out with a contribution of money to help her out to save her Crossfire and credit. I just took a paticular interest in her situation and wanted to help out by launching this fundraising effort.
Maybe it's the Christmas spirit within me driving this feeling but I hope this post is not ripped apart with criticism and only those that want to help will respond.

Of course AimeeJ, you will need to PM members who offer and provide your address to send you our contributions.

Oh God!
You are seriously making me cry Gary...I am a mess. I can't believe how wonderful you are. I am so amazed that people like you still exist, thank you SO much, this is the most wonderful thing anyone has ever done for me.

I have no problem with giving you all my address, as I no longer have a bank account. Think I should should post it here Gary or just have anyone who wants it message me?

You guys are all so awesome...I can't even express how much this means to me.

Alright we are off to a good start !!! Cmon folks read the first thread in this post and jump in and help out our forum friend in need. Just a small contribution can add up if we all pitch in and she can get caught up on her Crossfire payments and avoid repossession.

AimeeJ
will send a PM to anyone who replies to this thread to remain private within the forum and only reveal her address to those who will contribute to her need at this most difficult time.

Please be sure to go into your profile "user CP" and click on "edit options" be sure that you have private messaging and email enabled.

I'm not really financially able to pitch in, but I wanted to post for this sole reason:

YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING.

This is by far the most self-less, giving group of folks I've come across, PERIOD. I applaud you guys (and Valk) for having the compassion and decency to help her out in this time of need. God will smile on those who help their fellow man/woman out in times of need.

God bless you all... this is a heart-warming sight to behold... and I am extremely impressed.

Best wishes to you Aimee, hopefully everything gets squared away.

AimeeJ, send me your address.

My advise is that you keep trying to sell your car to get rid of the debt. You need to get rid of as much debt as possible in the long run to save your credit and be able to buy a house.

Merry Christmas, and may God bless you.

AimeeJ.

You may want to set up a PayPal account if you don't already have one.

I thought the same thing, but she would need a bank account and she doesn't have one.

I wouldn't recommend it, I pretty sure Paypal takes a cut out of each transaction and Aimee needs all the help she can get

Pat made an excellent point. Besides, opening up lots of envelopes filled with $$ would make it feel more like Christmas.

Just think if every "active" member just sent her $5.00.

Great idea Gary! Merry Christmas.

I read that she no longer has one. I don't think PP requires a bank.. not sure though.

I wasn't going to go into it as it detracts from the thread and might interpret as getting too personal to AimeeJ's finances.
AimeeJ, I'm not trying to pry or prod into your private details. I have been through some devastating times in the past and could very quickly find myself back in them. So... been there and hope to never go back.

Anyways, my "between the lines" point was to get/have a secure debit account not tied to a bank account.
You can deposit through money orders, CC or even Direct Deposit.

Depending on the State you live in (It may even be Federal, not sure), creditors and banks cannot access those funds against your will.

Or something to all that effect. I really don't know too much about it.

My Bartender (we have a professional relationship <snicker>) has credit problems and is doing something along these lines to insure her $ is where she needs it to be.

This also keeps her and her husband from having to run all over town with cash and money orders.

It would be interesting to learn more about this... I'm going to have to pick Penny's (Bartender) brain on it. Would be worthy of a thread unto itself.

Anyways... AimeeJ... here is a gift for you. The Magik Pill.
