I hope I never become that cynical. As Gary pointed out, AmeeJ never asked us for anything. All she ever did was relate the reasons she had to get rid of her car.
Gary was perceptive enough to pick up on the fact that a fellow forum member probably wasn't going to have a very good Christmas thanks to a financial decision she made a few months ago.
I don't know why somebody who's "middle class" should be automatically "exempt" from being eligible for charity when they need it. The question of who's more "deserving", is a decision that each individual who wants to help out must make.
There are allot of good charities out there to choose from, some better than others. But some of them seem to have overly exaggerated "administration fees" so you need to do your home work before you make any donations. Case in point:
Carrol Shelby has had a "Pet" Charity for kids ever since he had a heart transplant a while back. He says it's one of the highest priorities in his life.
Now even though he has collected several million dollars to date, he has only passed out less than a $10K to any needy kids.
If this is a scam, then that would make Gary the "Scam Artist", and since I spent a few hours talking with him in a hotel lobby at Woodward Ave, along with Dave "Sennaspirit", Lorne, and FP, I never got the impression he was a "Flim Flam Man". (I'm not so sure about Dave and FP though).
This is an open forum, and everybody is entitled to his or her opinions. But we are all adults, and we really don't need to be told that we are gullible just because we want to help. That's really not what this season is all about.
By the way, AimeeJ hasn't even PM'd me her address yet.
Personally, I haven't met anybody on this forum that I wouldn't help out if I could. (and I've met quit a few). But then I haven't met "Fogocruzado".

Well said Mike, that should set the record straight, all AimeeJ was trying to do on here is sale her car and nothing more. Valk picked-up on it and did the right thing to help out a fellow member, I have also met him and he isn't a scam artist.
BTW I don't need anyone looking out for me...I can make my own decisions without anyone calling out the people that can and want to help...

I certainly hope you won't be needing any help with your XF in the near future, that is if you even own one.

Well no thanks for the warning, I can make my own decisions...You may consider me as gullible if you want but I don't need some stranger (???) calling me out on it.

It's my money to do with as I please. I decide the charity not Fogocruzado.
If this gets her one payment and enough to sell the car so be it. If she waste it on something else I don't give a f**k.
It is offered in good faith and I expect it to be used as such.

Yes, we're looking forward to that with eager anticipation. Please share your joy with us at this festive time of the year.

And when you earn your wings for saving all of us from ourselves, please be sure to ring the bell loudly so that we'll all know about it and rejoice ...

Do you really not car that, by giving her money, you are rewarding her scam and enabling/encouraging her to go after more gullible people?
sounds like someone scammed you and your mad at the world...LOL.

Well, more than an hour has passed since the comment above was posted, Mr. or Ms. Fogocruzado. You have been on this thread the entire time and even responded to other posts. So please tell us about your Crossfire - before you tell us how to run our lives. Thanks for your anticipated cooperation.

So this is the first thread you've participated in, and the only one as well. Who do you think you are coming into this forum family making accusations of scams and insulting members of this forum.

Forget about this being a worthwhile cause or not. Gary is a stand-up guy. I know him and your accusations are unfounded and insulting.

If you feel so strong about this, just don't give anything. No one is forcing anyone to give. We should give from our hearts especially this time of year. If you don't feel the need to give, don't. But please don't spread your poison here.

Perhaps the only argument is that she might have not used the her best judgment when she bought the car, but we don't know all of the circumstances given her case, and I'm not passing judgment on her. So those of us that are willing to help out do not have any strings attached. We just hope this helps her in resolving her situation.

Again, if its not in your heart to help, then please stay out of this thread.

I have been away today finishing up some Christmas shopping. It was nice to see while I have been gone I have received support from several for my efforts here and this is why a consider this like a family.
AimeeJ has a lot of reading to do when she logs back in here and hopefully she will soon.

No, that's precisely what you already tried but failed to do. To be uncharacteristically blunt, we really don't need your unsolicited interference or your ostentatious lecturing. Unlike other commenters, you have no proven history on this forum, so your unsupported series of negative criticisms simply lacks any reasonable semblence of credibility. There are adults on this forum who do not require advice from an anonymous unknown poster to help them make decisions about how to distribute their own holiday kindnesses. Bye, bye...

Another thread that gets mired in different directions. I don't know what all the "I've met someone" stuff means or what it brings to the post, but ...I have not met Fogocruzado but I met VALKRYDERGUY at Woodward last summer - great guy...not that this means much on this subject.
Notwithstanding all of fodder back and forth, I am suspicious of the AimeeJ story as well...didn't feel compelled to tell anyone about that though. There are some "red flags" to her story, but I'm not going to sh_t on someone's birthday cake (to provide her help) either.
Fogocruzado may have some valid questions - but his delivery is pretty un-productive.

I'm not sure what the point to my post is other than I too am suspicious, but the choice is to each of us as to act or not.
