A new member jumping in and putting in their two negative cents.
Good try though to put a new spin on this post and challenge Aimee's character.
After 4 months I will come back and quote all your posts to check your consistence with what you say as well.

Gary, I guess Jaded has never experienced a "Reversal of Fortunes" in his life time.
Here's hoping he never does.

What I challenge is that she should be all all surprised by the outcome of her decisions.
Of course I can empathize with her situation. but I know she has to see her own way out of this.
I have faced grave diversity in my lifetime that would make her problems seem like a stroll around Disneyland. Although I have no desire to share my drama. I will divulge that it involved a drunken driver and subsequent car accident. I can assure you this...I dealt with my own ****, and became stronger and more confident for it.
Perhaps this has contributed to my tough love attitude.
We all have choices in life and must live by them. it is inevitable that **** is going to happen. It's our choice how we are going to deal with it.
There is an abundance of free information and literature available on money management.
I wish her the best.
I''m now convinced you are a descent person with a big heart, and that your intentions are good.

I understand what you are saying here and the comments she has shared I believe were never intended to pull anyone's heart strings but it just caught my attention and it was right around Christmas so I just decided to stick my neck out on the line here and ask for people to pitch in a little something and several did which I am grateful to.
I know Aimee is grateful too. Best wishes to everyone in this forum to a HAPPY NEW YEAR to come. Gary

I just wanted to drop a quick line here while I have a minute...
The responses to this thread (barring the negative ones, and I understand why people said the things they did) have been amazing. In the past two weeks I have gotten over ten cards in the mail with a little something, and I cannot thank you all enough. With Xmas having just passed we were feeling a little bummed since we couldn't go all out with gifts, but the ones we recieved from you all are just...amazing. I can't express my gratitude or how much they have helped us along - the smallest amount left us open to pay something off.
Gary, you are truly a Godsend. Your envelope will be hung up on my wall.

Now you can just look forward and make 2008 a better year.

Hey guys!
Gary just gave me a call and let me know someone revived this thread to see how I was doing, so I thought I'd stop by and give everybody an update.
Not long after my last post (almost a year ago), we ended up finally facing defeat and returning the Crossfire to the dealership. It was really unfortunate and I still miss the car, but it ended up being the best choice for us at the time. I believe they were able to sell it for what we owed, as we never heard another word from them about it, thankfully.
Since then we have managed to tighten our belts and pay off a LOT of bills, so we are more comfortable money-wise now. We are still living with my 'rents as they also took a hit financially due to medical issues and were forced to file for bankruptcy, so we have taken over some of their daily expenses for awhile longer. I got a new job that I just started November 10th and it pays significantly better than my previous one, and my husband also has a new job he's been with for about 6 months. We are doing really great despite not having our own place yet, and we hope to acquire a new Crossfire sometime in the next five years since the prices keep steadily dropping.
Thanks for wondering about us, the gifts given to us last year we still the lifesaver we needed to back above water, and they were appreciated to a level I just cannot express.
I also heard about the new site, and I think it's great!

So there ya have it.
AimeeJ has survived the past year and things seem to be looking better now one year later.
I again want to thank all who chipped in last year with few bucks to help Aimee out.
As I said before I have never met Aimee but would like to someday.

Aimee,
Your story is a breath of fresh air in these days of bad news with bankruptcies and foreclosures. Good for you to get your financial house in order and being responsible about your debts. If and when you are ready, there will be another Crossfire waiting for you.

Good to hear you are doing fine. Also good to know we didn't waste our money as was suggested by a few.
Keep up the positive attitude and we will see you posting back here with another crossfire in the driveway.
Merry Christmas to you and all that contributed.

NOTE: THIS IS AN OLD THREAD AND I AM POSTING AN UPDATE FROM AMY......
3 Years ago I reached out to the members here to help someone in financial need.
I didn't know her and have never met her but it was around Christmas in 2007 and I just wanted to help her out.
Several pitched in but in the end Aimee still had to allow the dealer to repossess her Crossfire.
She made some bad choices and found herself in debt to deep and ultimately ended up filing for bankruptcy.
I recently sent Amy an email asking how things are going after a few years have passed and I am pleased to say that I received a email today from Amy and it reads like this:
Hi Gary!
How have you been? It's so funny, I was just thinking about the Crossfire and all the people from the forum the other day. Nice to hear from you!
We are doing well. I think I told you last time we spoke, but my husband and I filed for bankruptcy a little over a year ago. Things just kept piling up. So now we have a Mazda and a really, really old Trooper (89) that my husband drives. Nothing compares to that Crossfire, though. I miss it often.
One big thing is that we had a baby last April. His name is Micah Asher, and he is the light of our lives in every way. He's changed a lot about both of us, and I think has made us better spenders - we tend to hold on to our money a lot tighter nowadays. He made us grow up a bit, I think. Something we needed!
I hope all is well with you, too. Someday I hope to get a new Crossfire, but now with the kiddo it will likely be put off for about 18 years, hah! Oh well, I can drive it as an old fogie and annoy all the young whipper-snappers.
