Default What is a safe way to sell your car?

I am selling a car and the guy is from virginia (4 hours away). He wants to bring me a bank check then me give him the car and title. Is this safe? I asked him if he could just have the money deposited into my account instead, is that safer?

How should I handle this so I do not end up with a stolen car and no money, lol.

This is going to happen next saturday so I need to know quick. Then I can get my SRT6

Thanks!

we are meeting half way to make the deal. i just sent him a message and asked for cash. it will be no risk to him since he gets to drive off with the car and the title. does that sound like the safest way to you?

Is it a reputable bank?
I would call the bank to verify the funds, etc.
I would also recommend to take someone with you.

I would meet him at his bank and cash a check ina secure location, or at the least do the transaction at a very public place, don't take a check and sign over the title under any circumstances, he could just go and put a stop on it, or it could even be a stolen check book, really the best way is to just go to the bank that way you know the funds are somewhat legit and not fake money(you never know)

Thanks for the info, i will see if he can either give me the certified check info over the phone so i can call the bank and verify the funds or tell him to bring cash only. My fiancee is going with me so i will have a ride back.
