I've taken out two birds in my days. The first was a red-headed woodpecker - it was huge. I saw it fly in front of the car but didn't realize that I actually hit it until I was driving through town and people were pointing at my car. It was a huge one - almost thought it was pheasant. The second was a pigeon and it left a pile of feathers on my windshield....

yuch...

If that was mine I would hunt down that bird and take a dump on it.

Between the deer & the boars & now the birds I'm convinced it's a conspiracy.

At work today one of my coworkers complained that a bird crapped on his Envoy that was parked next to my Crossfire and why didn't it hit my car instead of his. I said that it did hit my Crossfire but with the fresh coat of Meguires Tech wax with Hydrophobic technology it bounced off of my car and hit his. Only left a trail in the dust on my hood.

There are a lot of wild turkeys around here anymore and they can do a lot of damage, they are slow and don't get much altitude and really do make one flinch if you see 6 or 8 headed across the road in front of you

My favorite story was when my ex-wife plowed into a moose with her minivan. It hit back-end through the windshield and filled the cabin with moose poop! Since they didn't get hurt I can laugh about it (I do feel sorry for the poor moose though), but you really had to know my ex-wife to appreciate it. You divorced folks will understand, I'm sure!

Speaking of turkeys......have you ever seen one try to fly up onto a tree branch at night. After a couple of tries and repeatedly slamming into the tree trunk, finally they get up there! Watching a turkey fly is truly one of the funniest occurances in nature!

Same here, Rick. Lotsa turkeys & they like to cross the roads single-file. They are big-as_ birds & will certainly cause some body damage if you whack them.
And they are fun to watch fly, beautiful but clumsy.
