I understand everyone's enthusiasm for the SRT-6 but I know I will not go down that path. Partially because its out of my price range, and more importantly, its an automatic, I really do not care how well the automatic is, even if its quicker then the manual; its the simple comfort of having that 3rd pedal for me that makes me enjoy the ride more then if I were going faster. BTW, I've looked into your products [JR Industries] and like what I see, expect to see orders from me in the future.

I agree with you on the M/T. I wanted an SRT, and when I began my research for an XF, I found that they did not make a true M/T for that model......but, to make sure I wasn't selling myself short, I did test drive an SRT, loved the power that's for sure, (and love the factory style SRT rims, not crazy about the rear wing, I like the gimmicky N/A retractable wing better), but I just couldn't pull the trigger and buy it because of the A/T. Seems there have been many posts on how to SC a NA engine, which seems to be a pain, now I'm wondering would it be more cost effective to have a SC motor and do a swap of the A/T for a M/T. I just love M/T's. Some will agree and some will disagree, which is fine. I think a sportscar/roadster is a drivers car, and the driver should have some "driver" input to the equation.

Member HDDP did a swap of the NA engine for the SRT6 engine, which included trying to mate up the SRT engine to the NA manual trans. There were a few problems and he had to swap quite a few parts.

I believe the mounting flanges were different, as well as the crankshaft mounting bolt hole pattern.

that's pretty much it as far as I know.

Apparently not, mamy members have other tire sizes.

Try driving the car first, Personally I see no need for it.

I don't know of anyone who's tried. I also don't see the point?

Apparently you've never looked under a Crossfire.....it's pretty much already been done at the factory.

Not that I'm aware of. If you find any post 'em up.

Thoughts on this one: http://elite-motors-inc-online.ebiza...d-3435310.html

Things I noticed is the tires do not match and that the front lip looks mangled up on the passengers side abit.

In addition to fishing for thoughts on the above ^^^ yet another question.

This is an American car and from my understanding American cars need to have the clutch engaged in order to start the car. so two things:

1. Can this be changed, so it can be euro-style that no clutch needs to be depressed to start the car?
2. Can the car be "bump started" Such as if you push a manual and you drop the clutch while they key is on and its in second gear the car will start even with a dead battery?

Car can be bump started but there is a trigger that needs to be momentary for the clutch or you get no cruise control.

I realize that some people think that it's kind of a joke that all American cars do this while European cars don't but I implore you to find a valid reason to want to start the car without the clutch enabled. I think that the safety concerns are really to strong to want to disable it. Just my two cents though.

Kit the 04 XF looks good, and the price is pretty good, but it was one of the first off the line, # 1100 and was mfg'd in may of 2003. $10K seems like a more reasonable amount to offer. What kind of extended warranty is available?

I would look for an 05 limited with a 50000 # and a later mfg date, 01/05-05/05. JMHO

I went in and I wanted to give them 12,000 IN GREEN CASH!!! They woulden't take it, they aren't budging below $12,300. I spent two hours trying to haggle with them and I just left, I told them when they decide to make it $12,100 I'll come by to pick it up.

It has a 3 month warrante on the engine+tranny, no factory warentee.

The headlights are hazy so IDK what to do with those since the dealer wont touch it anymore.

Wow, 3 hundo and they wouldnt' budge, You don't' want that car then. They bought it too high and it's worth much less. Heck for your 12K cash, I'd be inclined to sell you my car if you'd take it with the dented fender and cracked bumper.

Exclamation Re: My Introduction Can Beat Up Your Introduction!

I DID IT!!! I AM THE OWNER OF A CROSSFIRE!!!!

I took it for $12,250 + taxes and blah blah. I did end up buying this one: http://elite-motors-inc-online.ebiza...d-3435310.html

First and foremost, may I respectfully say, PIECE OF $|-|!t F****** CUP HOLDER!!!!

Now that that's done, I love it, its absolutely great! I have the rear hatch rattle but obviously the car isn't under warentee anymore so I'll get to that on my own time. The lights are obviously hazy too thats another thing I have to get to.

I put it into 6th gear twice today when I wanted to back up (I had a 300ZX where reverse was under 5th before). I was driving on the highway in 5th for a very long time till I remembered there was a 6th gear also. The first time driving when I got up to 60 I got scared when the spoiler started coming up. And several times when coasting the car just randomly continued on accelerating...obviously the cruise control button dosen't turn a light on when its on it just goes. I opened the cup holder AT LEAST 75 times on the way home by accident. Its very annoying and poorly designed. Its a work in progress but I'm gonna get on it! More to come soon...

P.S. I opened upt he hood to 90 degrees after figuring out I was pressing the wrong button lol, and I even found the super secret coin holder already!

it looks just like mine ... although mine's a year newer, but I paid more ...

and when I discovered the "super secret coin holder' it was full of quarters, so I got an unexpected bonus ... LOL

nice job ...

Nice ride! Congrats!

Now just put new tires that match on her and you'll be golden.

Two things about 6 speed Crossfires:

1. Get the magnaflow cat back! (16633) You will love the sound as you go through the gears!

2. You can turn on the cruise control on the e-way, when you want to pass someone, just drop it a gear or two and punch it! When you are ready to settle back down to speed, just go back into a higher gear and leave it alone......the Cruise will stay on and not have to be reset!

I'm gonna go clean it right now and wash it up abit and take pics to post in a second. Have to get the dealer sticker of the butt. Is there supposed to be a light that turns on when the cruise is activated? The manual is very wishy washey about that. Is it better to use PlasticX or ScratchX on the headlight fog?
