This is the last photo I took of my dad on May 4th, 2002
I took this pic of him standing on the steps of the school he attended in Chicago in 8th grade.
We spent the whole day revisiting his childhood neighborhood in Chicago.
I have always called this the "Wave goodbye pic"
He passed away 5 weeks later peacefully at home with no known illness.
It was said that he passed away from a cardiac related condition.
He was doing what he enjoyed most.....
watching the Cubs game on TV and doing the crossword puzzle

My dad owned this newly built Sunoco station back in 1959 in Villa Park,Illinois.
The pump shows $1.00 bought 3 gallons of gas.
Notice back then there were 6 blends of octane available.
Also bottled Coca-Cola in wooden crates at the full service island and in front of the station
These pics were taken during the grand opening in May 1959
and he continued to own and operate this station for several years.

Thank you, and Happy Father's Day to all you fathers. I lost mine in 1984, but still miss him.
