I'm currently working on a new idea and thinking of developing this website but I would like some opinions on it first if you don't mind

I'm building a website that is similar to YouTube but for car enthusiasts. I already own a domain name, which I think is a great name and could be a hit. It's called, Raced.Me (.Me extension is becoming very popular).

Basically, people from all over the world will be able to join and become members of the site. They'll be able to post videos of races, cars, etc. There will also be a forum where the members can post photos of their cars and show them, talk about other cars, ask for help with any questions, etc. It will be one big worldwide car community.

This will take some money and time to invest in, so right now I'm just trying to see if this sparks anyone's interest and if it's a good idea or not.

So does this sound interesting? If you came across the site would you join it?

Sometimes a post can get lost when the forum resets. Probably what happened to you last week. Do not despair.

Anyway, would I join?... sure. But I can only presume that 'enrollment' is free, and that your revenue stream will come later from advertisers. You might want to talk with the Crossfire Forum Admin's to see how the new advertisers are working out for this site.

All in all, the site you envision seems like one that could really gather speed.

It will be completely 100% free. And yeah the revenue would be from advertisers. Probably google adsense in the beginning and later on I'm hoping that since it is a car website that car companies will advertise. Car makers like Ford, Toyota, Nissan, etc. just like they advertise on myspace and other sites like that.
