I see that James1549 spent time cleaning his Crossfire.
I did my Horn Mod.

So. What did you do?

Labor Day is for the celebration of those who trade time for money. And, I believe, they deseve it.

I manage my own small business. We don't get that day off.

I did steal a moment to try and solve my CAI problem with it's weak connetion to the throttle body. So far, failure.

I installed my 74mm TB. Well Rudy did, I watched.....

Then, I took my bride to Geneva Illinois for a nice dinner, and walk on the River-Walk. Well, that was not labor.

Talking Re: So. Did you labor on Labor Day?

Franc, I had a biggy issue with the TB slipping off the hose or visa versa. Tried to get it going more than a few times so I CUT a circular groove into the TB shoulder with a dremel tool and TAAAAA DAAAAAA. It works nice, if I can find the photo, Ill attach it.

Tight1 As you can see I did the sway bar upgrade to the rear, now on to the front..........Woody

Thanks Woody.

I was considering an adhesive but worried about the consequences. Your idea sounds very workable, and safer.

Looking through your mods Woody and realized that I did other work on the cars this weekend.
Forgot that I had installed PTE thermostats in both of the SRTs.

COOL!

I went and watched Rudy install FP's throttle body and went with them to lunch.
Then came home and grilled some steaks and had the neighbors over for dinner.

A good day was had

Labor Day - Sept. '09

0600 - wake up without alarm 'cause body is apparently on autopilot since I turned 50.

0610 - flush & then stumble out to kitchen to turn on coffeemaker. Discover coffeemaker already on, hmmm.

0611 - realize wife is oddly missing. Oh yeah, she's working her 0600-1400 shift today. Deduce that is why coffeemaker on.

0612 - pour coffee. Stumble into living room. Turn on Weather Channel to see if favorite weather babe, Kelly Cass, is on. Secretly hope she is wearing skirt. Oh yeah, it's Monday - entire cast is different. Oh well.

0630 - shower. Other morning crap.

0730 - get laundry going. Attempt appearance at being fully domesticated: "Laundry? No problem, honey!"

0800 - Must wash SRT today - open back door, stare at new garage, suddenly don't understand why entire top half of garage is stuck inside a cloud somehow. WTF!?

0801 - that's right, last night's local weather dude did mention fog.....

0802 - hope wife made it to work OK & didn't have to avoid any critters like deer.

0930 - move SRT out of garage - proceed to wash & dry vehicle. Debug front bumper & mirrors.

1015 - Polish headlamp covers, clay bar, cleaner wax, wax, clean "rubber" seals, Rain-X all glass, Ultimate Detail gas door, under hood. Clean tires, vacuum interior, dust every stinkin' thing.

1330 - stand next to car & swear that I'm one of the luckiest guys on Earth for owning an Aero Blue SRT-6! Moo-ha!

1340 - Notice wife zipping up driveway. Get filled-in with her day's happenings. She looks stressed.

1345 - lunch - beans, rewarm last nights pizza & a Heinekin to wash it down with. Plant keister on sun-lit deck on a beautiful 79 degree day. Ain't life grand?

1355 - hand wife beer. Tell her its Labor Day: wrong thing to say: she KNOWS its Labor Day 'cause that's EXACTLY what she's done all morning.
Seriously think about handing wife Yukon Jack bottle & urging her to start drinking heavily right now.

1356 - right thing to say (33 yrs. of married life does have its advantages!). Now start to get worried that she's going to go ahead & start! Crap!

1445 - build 30 ft. sidewalk, consisting of pavers, in backyard. Smash fingers at least TWICE while hauling & lifting !$)**%% pavers. Can't curse loud enough!

1730 - SUCCESS! Looks downright superb, if I don't say so myself! Damm, I'm good!!

1745 - suppertime. Sit down to an excellently prepared meal. Wife can sure kick as_ when it comes to dinner!

1845 - back outside to clean up shovels, chisels, hammers, pruning saw, loppers (giant pine in backyard requires root clearing to make sidewalk lie flat) & other assorted crap. Man, how much crap did I haul out here? Where's my beer bottles?

1900 - take evening walk in park with missus. Getting darker earlier nowadays, have to walk park before bats come out otherwise wife gets nervous when they zip in front of us. Spot pair of giant, wet rodents in distance along river under bridge. Assume they are not actually giant wharf rats here to take over the world. Get close enough to see they're muskrats. Tell myself to quietly shoot myself if I EVER think of Muskrat Love again.
Marvel at just how unkempt they appear, look like kids with shampoo in their hair coming out of a shower.

2000 - Relax in front of TeeVee. Grab bowl of ice cream & pretzels. Hang out with wife & movies until 2330.

2330 - Labor Day 2009.

I was able to finally get around to painting my calipers:

The camera makes the blue much brighter - it really is quite a bit darker in person...

While the wheels were off, I took the opportunity to scrub the backsides (a MUCH easier job since the Rotex Gold pads went on) and put a coat of wax on each.

Since it was already up in the air, located and fixed an annoying squeak that's been lingering for a while - a vacuum line clamp was rubbing against a bracket underneath the cover that is just in front of the passenger side rear wheel and differential.

Washed, clay barred, Zaino Z-6'd and vacuumed my car. Broke down and washed the wife's Passat (didn't put quite as much effort into that one ).

All in all, it was great to be able to spend the day working on the Crossfire. Somehow, it doesn't seem like work at all!

Ah yes, the 6 o'clock wake-up call. To to bed at ten, wake up at six. Go to bed at two, wake up at six. Very annoying.

My Labor Day Activities
By Brent

Dusted off the SRT6 and used quick detailer on those pesky pollen spots.
Cleaned window both inside and out.
Vacuumed interior.

I got up at 8:30am (hey, it's a day off, no need to rise at dawn).

Drove the truck 105 miles round trip to FDR Park and walked 5.5 miles enjoying the fact the temperature and humidiy were low even for this time of year.

Came home and vacumed the XF, cleaned the windows and went for a 20 mile ride to get a coke and snack cake. Consumed them while sitting on the curb 3 feet from the XF (no food or drink in the car). Enjoyed talking to two college age girls who happened by and asked me about the XF.

Got home and realized that 30 years ago, the girls would have talked to me WITHOUT the car had I been wearing shorts and a "muscle shirt". Didn't know if I should be depressed about being 49 or happy that I have a car college aged girls like.

Took the 'happy' option and got over it.

Went to bed and had a dream (among other dreams) about my first Dragon this fall.

Actually didn't sign up. I dont think the keg will fit, let along the whole kegerator. My friend picked it up for my in his camry. I have been through St Louis and had a bad time. not the cities fault.. well kinda hit a pothole on ramp and blew my new tire out and had to get towed and new tire put on 12 hours away from home
