Yet, we know that what might be best for us was not meant to be the best for her.

Wow. Very moving Franc, and very profound.

Come to think of it, this is how I got past my mother's death.
She was in considerable pain for several years, too.

I went to bed at 7:45 last night. Sorry I was not around, but had to get some sleep. I heard from my brother in Kalamazoo very early Sunday morning and sleep has come kinda hard since then. (His situation is not good, either. He left me with a decision to make: whether or not to help him, and just how to do it.)

Franc hit the nail on the head. It may take a few days for you to be able to find comfort or peace, but with me it was instant - in the case of my mom.

 

This news saddens me Deb. May she rest in peace. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. You're right; she's in a better place now, free of pain. His Will be done.

I think Deb was headed over to her sister's around 2 hours ago. Told her to spend time with them, she said she pretty much HAD to do that.

I'd pray heavily for her sister and sis's husband - they are MOST in despair. Michelle was an only child and had not had children, as the accident prevented that. So, "Mom and Dad" are dealing with the loss of, to them, their whole world.

Be good to yourself, gather family and friends close and spend time remembering all of the good, fun and unique things about Michelle. Do what she would have wanted you to do, it is the truest way to honor her. If she would have said go laugh, dance and sing at the top of your voice, get to it. If she would have wanted you to put your emotions into helping another, get busy. The loss of someone we love is painful. But for Michelle it's not, she's free, which after all she had been through is a blessing of comfort and peace.

Deborah my friend, your broken heart is an indication that not only did you love someone dearly but that someone loved you back just as much. I am truely sadden to hear about Michelle's passing. I know she meant the world to you. Please pass along my condolences to your sister and the rest of the family. The Knights and your -C-I-C-C-I family are praying for you and yours. Deborah, I don't know what else to say that hasn't already been said.
We all here on the forum feel your pain in some small way because many of us have had the pleasure of meeting you.
Thank you for thinking enough of us to lend a shoulder for you to cry on, and for us all to have an opportunity to pray for your young niece. I truly believe she's in a better place.

I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.... what a wonderful group of friends I have. Chas has been such a blessing to me, reaching out and calling me whenever he could, giving me a shoulder to cry on so to speak. He is truly a good man and friend. I am very blessed to have such a connection with a caring group of friends. I appreciate all your sentiments more than you know, they have brought me great comfort over the past few days.

Tomorrow is the burial and it will be a very hard day for my sister and for me as well. I have had to be the rock and after tomorrow I will finally get to come home and break down, so I have a feeling the weekend will be full of tears for me, but that is ok, I'll get it out and then I'll place Michelle in the folds of my heart and hold her dear for the rest of my life.
