Tired of this ad
I am so tired of seeing this stupid computer-generated ad at the top of the page here.
Stryker Crossfire
I guess it's time to subscribe here so the ads are gone. (And I can have a bigger avatar! )

Re: Tired of this ad
Ill keep my eyes open. I can't say I have ever seen one, but I DO think I have seen "NeedsWings" from time to time. Just not sure.
I am subscribing to the site when I sit and do my bills this month, so I have about a week of ads then they should be gone! (I want to support this place if I can and a few dollars a month over a year seems reasonable. I used to donate to my science board, until the admin got a free hosting deal...)

i have no problem donating to keep the site running whatsoever. we were given a choice to either pay x amount to be a sponsor or pay y amount to be a sponsor and also get our ads in the rotation. i think we all went with the more expensive one but never saw the benefits of the extra fee's for the ad rotation.

You know, with the good info like in this thread, I think it's time to support this site financially.
Off to take care of that right now.

I worked for DoubleClick and Google for three years, and specifically worked on resolving my publisher client's issues with getting ads to rotate properly per their client's contracts.
Right now, all that is mostly being seen is the "house" ads, that pull up this Google AdSense ad. That typically occurs when the initial ads that contain the ones that you are looking for have met their satisfaction for a period of time.
Its both fairly complex and yet quite easy to explain, but there are a lot of variables that would need to be looked at to have a full understanding of what is happening with the ad rotation.
I don't want to bore anyone to death with this info, however.
We would all much rather hear about hp boosting technology that about ad serving technology.
One thing to think of:
I'm not sure what your contract with the website is, and wether you provide them with a kickback with user clicks on your ads, but if you don't provide them with a click fee, then its in their financial interests to have the users on here be more exposed to the Google AdSense ads, as the website gets a bit of money from Google with every user click action on an AdSense ad.
If every user clicked on 1 or 2 ads per week, it would add up pretty darned quick for the website.
BC.
