Two way radio - Cobra Li7200 ??
Anyone have any experience with these or an opinion on the others
Motorola EM1000R
Midland GXT900VP4
Uniden GMR2089
These models seemed to be rated well.

I have a pair of Motorola TALKABOUT T5420
Used I think once and been in a drawer since I won them years ago at a boat Drag Race that they sponsored.
You can have them if your going to CAA I will give them to Gary to give to you.
Let me know.....

Speaking as a 20 year veteran of commercial two-way radio repair....
All of them are super-cheap China-made radios.
Not likely there is much difference in any of them.
For the money, I'd go with the Midlands first as they are more experienced at producing cheap stuff than Motorola is. I"v been disappointed with Motorola's attempts at entry-level or cheap radio - and I work at a Motorola shop!
I'v not been all that impressed with Uniden, either.

Kirk,
thank you! take them along to CAA. you may find that they are handy to have while driving along with the "pack". that's the reason we will need a pair.
if you test them out and find they don't do much, hand them off to some kid at one of the local stops as a toy. if they work well keep them for your own use or if you feel you really don't need them and they are doing a decent job then yes hand them off to Valk he'll bring them to us. but if they're good why not keep them yourself so you can talk with the other drivers while on the road? if you send them our way we happily accept them too.
Pizza guy I agree it's a crap shoot on which ones. I just want that we can hear when to stop and not become left behind! I passed up a new set at a garage sale, Unidens I think.

I have the Midland GTX-800. They work great, and the hands-free VOX headset works nice too. Even in the roadster. I would guess the -900 will be similar?
