Fuel
Can regular fuel be used or is there a definite need for preimum? I also drive a benz in which i have always used premium however wondering if regular is ok for the Crossfire? What is everyones opinion?

Premium 93 octane .... of course regular can be used in an "emergency only" basis. Like, if you run out of gas and need to get to a station. Only use "fluids" recomended in your manual......

I know when I bought mine the dealers rep said you don't have to use premium but I decided to call their maint shop as well as a couple of others and they all said you can, but don't do it or you'll be in here on a regular basis clearing out error codes etc.

MMT in Gasoline
MMT is a manganese containing metallic additive that is
blended into some gasolines to increase the octane number.
Gasolines blended with MMT offer no performance
advantage beyond gasolines of the same octane number
without MMT. Gasolines blended with MMT have shown
to reduce spark plug life and reduce emission system
performance in some vehicles. DaimlerChrysler Corporation
recommends using gasolines without MMT. Since
the MMT content of gasoline may not be indicated on the
pump, you should ask your gasoline retailer whether or

MMT is prohibited in both Federal and California reformulated
gasolines.
In Canada, MMT can be used at levels higher than those

Why burn regular gas? The cost savings (at least here in Georiga) are less than 30 cents per gallon.
So, for under $3.50 per fill up, I use what they tell me to use. THINK of how many tanks of gas at $3.50 per tank you'd have to burn to save the cost of repairs (or even clearing of codes) to make up for it.
The fuel filler door tells you PREMIUM ONLY. That is not a recommendation, its an instruction.
