Default Marines 1, Badguy 0

“We knew what we had to do,” said Rolden. “When we heard the gun shot we did what we were trained to do; which was to run toward the fight, not from it.”

THIS is why we can be proud of those who serve their country.

I hope they used "adequate force" to take the guy down.

Not to detract from the bravery shown but civilians have done similar feats, should this make me proud to be a civilian?
Surely they did what many decent people would have done, the fact that they were marines has little to do with it. Their training and the fact there was three of them actually makes it less noteworthy.
This story has had a particular spin put on it, making it a rather biased report. Think about it, had they been civilians the story would not have appeared here on this forum. If the Vietnam war was going on it would not have appeared anywhere.
A commendable act none the less.
