The Last US WWI Veteran Dies
Buckles, last WWI doughboy, dies at 110 in W.Va. - Yahoo! News
I surely hope that I can live to the ripe old age of 110. I probably won't. Thank you Frank Buckles and your generation for your service.

I caught this news item on TV the other day. Truly remarkable. Not only was he the last WWI vet to pass on, he was a POW during WWII! A real American hero in my book!
I hadn't been aware that we were down to one. Hope someone thanked him for his service (twice).
I was a kid when the last Civil War guy passed. As I recall he served as a drummer when he was just a kid.
Probably won't see the last WWII guy (or gal) leave us but they are thinning out fast. If you have never had the chance to talk to one of them, go find one while they are still out there.
