Delorean forum gone... Could that happen here?
I used to visit the delorean forum. Dmctalk.com. I recently noticed it is gone. A shame because they had a nice place just like we have at the crossfire forum. Do you think that could ever happen here? I plan on keeping my car for the next 30 years... I hope this forum and all the info archived will remain for decades. I hope one day we don't wake up and it is gone.... Like the delorean forum.
Anyone know what happened to dmctalk.com?

Sad 'cause like our reheaded stepchild, the Delorean is a cool orphan.
A lot of Saab parts right? Simpler old school electronics and carbueration. Should be able to keep one running. There is always duct tape.
Sadly the Chineese pay top dollar for scrap stainless.

Yes... The dmc and crossfire have a lot in common. A few year run of production.... Shared car parts and both ahead of it's time in style. Also both have larger wheels in the back and smaller in the front.
Earlier this evening I couldn't get our forum to refresh or load pages. Made me think of the previous times we have lost connectivity for one reason or another. Everytime we lose the site there's talk of backing up, new websites, buying the site from the owner...
Then connectivity is restored and we soon forget that it could all be gone any day for unknown reasons.
Keep in mind that one guy controls our future. The great info on this site could be gone forever.

I hope it never happens. It dawns on me after its to late that many owners before me have done the heavy lifting so to speak, that would keep me from making mistakes. Just last week I ordered LED interior lights for both of our X-fires. As luck would have it a post came up on this subject where several members through trial and error spelled out sugestions on what to order. Mine that I ordered came in today. All of them were wrong. Had to repurchase and hope they refund my money when I return what I received. Could have all ben avoided had I researched the forum. Lesson learned. I hope I never loose this. This Forum is part of what makes owning this car a pleasure.

I worry about this all the time. As an administrator it is very frustrating when I reach out to Julian to resolve an issue I dont have rights access to fix, and it goes on deaf ears. Very frustrating..
The DMCTalk board is only temporarily down. There was some server moving going on to also relocate the domain to dmctalk.org, and there were some technical issues.

Hi guys.
I found this forum (and this thread) because I have a Google web alert on the word "DeLorean."
The DMCTalk forum had a catastrophic failure, and will be back. You can visit www.dmctalk.org and register for updates.
The list owner asked us to keep anyone we knew posted on the status of the forum. We are a pretty close-knit group of car owners, so word on this type of thing travels fast.

The cars are also not carburated, they have BOSCH K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection. The all aluminum PRV-6 engines were used in a variety of other cars up until 1992 in the Eagle Premier.

Luv those "wedge" cars!
And where else can you get the parts man to build you an NOS car almost 30 years after the original manufacturer "took a powder"?
