Iam 64 and about to park the cross and challenger and ground the planes so I can personally construct another house. As long as I can keep going, Iam going to go full tilt. However, I have already been to the other side and not afraid to go back - life is short: eat your dessert first!.
When I get too bad off to fully enjoy the day, I have already bought my ticket and Iam going back on my time with no regrets. Life is to be enjoyed but checking out is also your option, I have decided LONG AGO that there was not enough time and have been a type AA personality since 5th grade. I have planned the final call and anticipate that it will be my own decision, rather than to fade as so many of my friends have sucking on a hose for air...
Enjoy it every day, Woody SOYLENT GREEN

Spot on Woody....I'm with you.... I rather be doin' 160 than flat on my back in hospital looking up... One of my duties at the hospital is handling the morgue... After awhile, you get used to it... I've put a few classmates from high school thru there already, and wonder why they didn't enjoy life while they could, 'cause I sure am. I finally am starting to have more time to have fun again, and I am not going back...lol
I too have had knee issues. They seemed to get worse after my lumbar fusion surgery. Though they feel better now that I have lots 30 lbs. I got a hot tub to put on the back deck and am amazed how much better that makes me feel. I sit in that 104 deg water with those jets working my old tired muscles and wow after 20 min I am loose as a noodle.
I agree with Woody live now while you can for no one knows what's to come. If you cross the things off your bucket list as you go you will get most of them done before it's too late. I have one of those living wills so no hoses and machines for me!!

I will be 61 in May and I have been very fortunate up to this point. For the most part the parts that should not get stiff do not and those that should... well knock on wood
. Like someone else mentioned my left hip bothers me some as do my fingers but, not enough to really slow me down. Up until this point I really believe that my vehicles keep me young. I like maintaining them and keeping them clean and well detailed. I can spend hours working on them and even though I may be more exhausted when I am done than in days past I still enjoy it. My wife doesn't know why I crawl around on the ground to change my oil instead of letting someone else do it. I tell her that day will come soon enough but until then I'm doing it. Same goes for work, I am on my feet pretty much the whole 24 hours I work a week with little to no bad effects. I kinda feel like a outfielder going back on a deep fly ball at full speed, you know the wall is coming up fast your just waiting to hit it.

My hero...........lol
I may as well throw in my 1 cents worth with all the "Old" folks...I will be 75 in March...work daily, play with my baby(Crossfire too), and, thanks to the Lord I take only a blood pressure pill... I attribute my good health to staying busy, having a purpose in life, maintaining a POSITIVE ATTITUDE, don't worry, and listening to rock and roll daily. My wife, Betty ask; Carl how can you listen to that loud music "at your age"... "Honey, it has nothing to do with age..." Carl
My Crossfire's garage is lovely, dark and deep
But I have promises to keep
And miles to go before I sleep .....
