A great find on license plates
I have to share this with you. I think you might appreciate the coincidence. I went to a car show/swap-meet last Sunday. There was a guy selling old license plates, and I thought I should look to find a couple sets from 1956, as I have a 56 VW, and a 56 Tbird. I came to find two sets that were one number off each other. License plate 8297 and 8298. He was selling as a two set item. So, you know I had to buy them. I don't think I would ever run into this chance ever again. The guy claims they were from the Walgreen family at one time. I don't know if he was BSing, or not, and I really don't care who they belong to at one time, but thought that having these plates one number apart for my two 56's is kinda cool.
I have never seen a licence plate that was one # off mine in all the time I have been driving so to find a couple consecutive pairs from 1956 would be pretty rare. Nice find FP
LOL, he had such a large variety, but all used.
I'm sort of a license plate fanatic, been ordering "personalized" plates since 1970, and started requesting certain numbers on them since 1967.
Finding two consecutive license plate #'s (especially 56 year old ones) is just unbelievable FP.
Are they in pretty good condition, or are you going to have to "restore" them before installation?
The next time I find myself in a haystack, I know who I'm going to call.

Mike, FP, Indiana has a new program where your "antique" registered auto can use the old plate and register it. There are restrictions on use, but you can run them.... So, your '65 could be used on your '65 car....pretty cool. I was looking at 2005 plates, but I believe the rule is 25 yrs old..or older...
