Default My Yesterday

What a perfect day. I had, well not had, to drive to the Columbus VA ( 2 hours each way) yesterday for some minor catch up. When I left I told the wife that since it was such a nice day that I was driving up to Columbus the back way. And if the weather held I mite come back home the same way. Less traffic, much more twisties. So I had a blast on the way up. Once I hit the four lane I ran up on a black limited. Only the second time I've done that. Nice older couple just crusing along in the fast lane going lots slower than me. He saw me coming because as I passed him both of them waved. I get to the VA and I get the most prime spot in the parking lot. Safe from doors banging on my car, closest to the door, plus every person who leaves the VA will see my car. I go in to do some lab work and I'm first in line. I get done there I have to see a nurse. I go there and no waiting. Lastly I have to go to the clerk to set an appointment and again no line. So now I'm done and go out to leave. From the door I look out to my car and it looks great, but next to it sits a Mercedes. As I get closer I see a old guy like me in the car getting ready to get out. By now I'm up to it and I look down at the right fender and read the words in chrome, BiTurbo V-12. I think Damn. I go around back and see its a CL 65. The driver gets out and I ask how fast? He says zero to 60 in 4 seconds. It has 604 horse power and its my love. As good as my luck was running I should have asked to let Me take it for a spin, but I didn't. On the way home I had Lynard Skynard cranked up and came home the back way. Not to often to see a car that costs north of 200 k in the VA parking lot. It was a great day!

Great days like this are always to be cherished.

Open roads, short lines, long drives, and rich automotive art.

Life is simply good to us
