I won't buy a polymer gun. I like steel. This one dates to 1840. A muzzle loading shotgun converted from flintlock to percussion cap. OLD technology.

Yes, along with Kansas and Wyoming. Magpul says they will settle in several sttes to protect their investment from the dangers of political winds.
It is a good move, good for them.
I especially like where many of the firearms companies are refusing to sell to law enforcement/military in states with certain bans and laws. I know it ends up hurting the LEOs in the long run, which is not what I am advocating, but you can only say, 'do as I say, not as I do' for so long before someone calls you on it, and they did...

I'm leaning toward the "HBC" version at $1,200 bucks.
I do not own one yet myself but after a year of looking and listening,,,that is my current choice. Hopefully prices and available inventory will settle down this summer when I can afford one.

Magpul sell high capacity magazines and a lot of accessories for long guns and pistols. I own several. lol. Good for them. Our Gov is chasing all the manufacturers right now. Franc I'm still a colt guy but there are a lot of great ar15 style rifles out there. The prices are settling a bit. If I can help locate 1 for you let me know.

I will not make a purchase until I can fully operate and maintain the weapon. I plan on attending a prepper camp one weekend this summer where I will learn more about the Ar 15 platform. Then I will start looking in earnest.
I get SS checks now and one month of pay will be set aside for it.
I almost bought a DPMS T.E.K. last year but the budget went to buy my grandson all the rifles and shotguns from his other grandpa's estate. A nice cache of antique and modern rifles and carbines.
This will be my first "Black" gun. Any and all advice will be helpful.
I'm sure, like a sailboat, or a woman, the rigging will end up costing more than the hull.
Optics, laser, flashlight, barrel length, and host of stocks/rails configs. I have both a 20" scoped heavy barrel and an M4 carbine. Just pay attn to the barrel. I sold a daewoo dr200 that I. Wish I had now kept. Check it out Franc. You might like it. Need to convert the thumb hole to a folder but it makes a great compromise.

Even ol' Danny "Boy" Quayle is getting out of the business...
The more we fight it.. the more we loose it...

Gun manufacturers and aftermarket companies which provide those products are making moves, changes or closing down. Thatis the subject of the threadhere.
There are several meanspirited articles out there trying to somehow relate the Bushmaster alledged to have been used at Sandyhook, to Dan Qualye. Such discussions would be considered political.
How about we try not to do that here?

I have heard good reviews on them. A friend has several and also recommends them. They are located near Davenport IA but curiously in Illinois. Three/four hours from my home. A nice drive in the crossie!

Proportional to a generic AR15 I would guess, if availble, around $900 to $1200 today.
Thanks
Thanks Doc.
