No words I can say will ease the pain, but I am praying for all of those affected. Truly a sad day...
I'm glad that you are ok Joejet and the rest of you from OK. Sad news about the area.
Thanks Larry, I was down by Moore 3hrs ago and there were convoys of police cars, dumptrucks, bulldozers, utility trucks its surreal. I live in OKC. Sundays tornado was closer to me. Its getting pretty scary around. Thunder and lightning right now. I hope this all ends soon.
I grew up in Moore and graduated from Westmoore High. I was there during the May 3 tornados and remember being lost in my own neighborhood due to all landmarks destroyed and looking like a wasteland. Still have alot of family and friends there, but luckily all that i have contacted are uninjured. Some are without home but safe for now. My heart goes out to any who have to go through such devastation and loss.
Elderly woman:
She seems to be so strong and then to have her dog come out alive after she thought it probably hadn't survived is jut so wonderful...
I'm sure that dog means more to her than anything else she has lost.
Such a sweet woman
Something to watch and make you feel good...........

I had heard about that video... glad I finally watched it. My favorite part was when she said, "I know exactly what happened here..."
My second favorite part was the end.

I do'nt see how the lady and the dog can be in a house that is destroyed and collapsed - and neither is hurt.
Pizza, you grab a mattress, pull it into the tube and pull the mattress over you. I have done this once with 2 little kids and a dog.

I finally "pulled the pin". After 35 years of tornados, (one only being a block away) I bought an underground tornado shelter today. The storms on sunday and monday were it for me. Seems like they are getting more powerful every time they hit. Maybe that feeling of dread will be lifted. In any case I feel safer. As an added benefit it will be in my garage. I will now be able to get under my cars with no ramps. Pretty cool.

We are now in round 3. It has been raining now for about 6hrs. in the OKC metro area (including Moore). More than 5 inches so far.
A shelter like that would cost more than car,Bill. Hey, I hope you guys are going to Big Bend this summer.
We'll be there.
