R.I.P. Joey
Real sorry for your loss, I'm sure Joey knew he was loved. Had two Danes many years ago, a Harlequin and a Brindle, wonderful boys, I still miss them.
Take care, Steve

I'm sorry for your loss. We lost a pet very dear to us a few years ago, and I was crushed for a few days. We only started feeling a little better when we got another pug.
It's a hard thing.. like the loss of a family member. My "Dixie" ( "Red" Boston) loved sleeping with her head on the pillow with me. I buried her just outside my bedroom window. I saw this and had to share.. I now have a "Sophie".. and she's almost as sweet as my Dixie was ..

We know exactly how you feel.
5 years ago, we lost our beloved 'Kobe', a 13 year old male Anatolian Shepard to cancer.
The very next day, we acquired TWO Anatolian puppies, Dakota and Mercedes.
It certainly helped us in getting over the loss, having 2 puppies running around the house ......

And every dog I have had, came with it's own unique personality. My dad was one who could bring out the personality of a dog unlike any other person, he truly had a way with them, and had one all but the last year of the 35 years he was in my life. (Dad knew he was going soon, and didn't want to leave a dog behind. So when his died, he didn't get another.)

We can say this about two of the many dogs we have owned and at least 2 horses. They give so much and ask for very little in return. They can sure change a gloomy day just by the way they look into your soul. You think if this guy loves me so much there must be some good inside me.
The best thing is the wonderful memories will always be there to bring that smile to your face but the pain of there departure will fade with time.
