Default leaving Florida tomorrow morning

being that i went through Andrew in 1992 ,,,,,,I will not be here for irma , in fact there is a van that we never found. at that time i had 42 employees and 39 of them had no houses once andrew was finished ,,we had no power for 3 weeks, so this time i am out of here.

I am going to my place in blairsville ga WITHOUT my crossfire, but with my family , my son,his wife my daughter and her husband and my granddaughter and of course my wife.

Current projections have it hitting south Florida pretty hard but should be about 100 miles away when it passes here. Of course the projections 96 hours out are +/- 200 miles.

Well, be safe...get out... Jim I hope the ole' XF survives, but it doesn't look too good right. I was supposed to be in Marco Island next weekend for a weeks stay...that is off the table now....I think the house may be under water by the time this Irma gets done. Again...FL people be safe...

I'm in Southeast Alabama, Abbeville. It is a little far out, but there is ten aces here, a roof, bath and kitchen. Florida XF owners always welcome and can park a trailer here for as long as you need. It is about a 8 hour drive from Orlando.

Glad to hear you made it to Northern Georgia safely. Looks like you may get more rain than originally expected as Irma's track is now showing a path more west - right up the middle of Georgia. Our rainfall, and corresponding wind gusts, in Upstate SC is now forecasted to be more significant since we'll be on the stronger side of the storm front as it comes thru GA into TN.

Latest guess has it coming up the west coast, about 60 miles to the left of here but other side of the mid-Florida ridge. Whole question is when it will make the right turn past Cuba, could go about 50 miles either way & will not know that until maybe tonight (the later the better)

Big question is how late it will turn & how long it will stay over water (they decay quickly over land). Should pass 28 degrees N about 0dark30 Monday morning. Or not. It all depends on where/when Irma hooks.

I hope she keeps on going...maybe spare some surge. Right the house in Marco is 10' above ground level. Might be able to survive a 3-6 surge, but not 15...
