Well, be safe...get out... Jim I hope the ole' XF survives, but it doesn't look too good right. I was supposed to be in Marco Island next weekend for a weeks stay...that is off the table now....I think the house may be under water by the time this Irma gets done. Again...FL people be safe...
Re: leaving Florida tomorrow morning
Glad to hear you made it to Northern Georgia safely. Looks like you may get more rain than originally expected as Irma's track is now showing a path more west - right up the middle of Georgia. Our rainfall, and corresponding wind gusts, in Upstate SC is now forecasted to be more significant since we'll be on the stronger side of the storm front as it comes thru GA into TN.
Re: leaving Florida tomorrow morning
Latest guess has it coming up the west coast, about 60 miles to the left of here but other side of the mid-Florida ridge. Whole question is when it will make the right turn past Cuba, could go about 50 miles either way & will not know that until maybe tonight (the later the better)
Big question is how late it will turn & how long it will stay over water (they decay quickly over land). Should pass 28 degrees N about 0dark30 Monday morning. Or not. It all depends on where/when Irma hooks.
