I assume, if he actually purchased the insurance, he would have to make the claim for loss and damages?

I would try with the post office about the insurance, about it being dropped and damaged, say their was more in the package like the yoke and cover that is missing.

thars right but he removed his post that he and I had about the purchase. I waited a month before posting this post

I did and they said the person that insured the package is the one to file ,,and of course he is now off to la la land because he does not answer the phone or the text or email.

Years ago I had a similar experience with damaged goods. The sender refused to answer calls so I could ask him to file a claim. Yes only the sender can file a claim because he bought the insurance. The local postmaster had me fill out a form that basically constituted mail fraud. Once that letter was sent, he gladly contacted me and the issue was worked out.

went to PO, spoke the manager, he knows me, and he said the person that insured the package is the one to file a claim

Post his phone number so we can all tell him what we think of his business practices. It most likely won't help but it will bother the heck out of him and possibly force him to change his number.

Sorry you're having to go through this.

That is harassment, probably illegal and is certainly not what this forum is about.
