what age you feel you are when driving your xf?
I feel my actual age. Living this long is a gift and I'm grateful for it. I like knowing my XF can hit over 150 mph, something I don't need to try again. I find I enjoy being precise in my driving ... going through twisties at the optimum points, keeping my speed as even as possible, passing quickly, safely, and at the best safe interval, enjoying the experience of cruising anywhere with the top down I've considered taking a driving course like the old Bondarant course to really learn how my Crossfire can handle so I can be a better driver. They are all too far away amd too pricey just now, so I practice driving the best I possibly can and loving it.
Getting into and out of it was a hard milestone as I recovered a little over a year ago from a severe hip replacement. If I couldn't get in and out we were going to have to sell the car. I celebrated my ongoing healing and strengthening of my hip by setting off on an about 1000-mile road trip. It was my bio hip that started aching after two hours-ish, still does, the prosthetic doesn't join in for another hour or so. So, every couple of hours I pull off, walk a bit, stretch a bit, find a bathroom, refresh my coffee, and fold and squeeze myself back into the cozy cabin and drive on again.
I love being my age and celebrating this amazing life by daily driving this very great car, top down as much as possible, it turns a trip to the dentist into a joyous experience.
