Oh, NO. George was a "salt of the earth" kind of guy. He and I spoke maybe a year ago, and he told me that he'd probably not make another Dragon event, he did not tell me much, but he made it clear his health was part of this. George was a wonderful man, and this hits kinda hard.

I never missed his posts, always sensible and logical. I regret that I never met him face to face, I think I really missed out.
My condolences to his family and friends.
My condolences to his family. He was an amazing source of info and you could nearly always bet the info he provided was accurate. If he did err he was quick with a correction.
He helped me out by PM on more than one occasion. And, a great sense of humor. He will surely be missed here.

Re: ala_xfire has passed away
Sad news that George has left us . . . George was "THE BEST"! I affectionately called him Dr. George (Doctor of Crossfireology) or Super George because he knew everything about Crossfires and was always quickly willing to share that knowledge. He would always (modestly) protest to me that he was not a doctor. George truly loved his Crossfire and every one of us who had the pleasure of knowing him through our own love of Crossfires came to quickly understand that he was a kind, loving and gentle soul.
You've accomplished your mission here on Earth my friend. Enjoy God's loving embrace and eternal life in His Paradise . . .
Here is his Obituary
I enjoy reading the posts being shared here...I'm sure his stepson enjoys seeing all of them too
We will be holding a moment of silence as we gather in remembrance at the 2 events next year
CrossfireFun in the Ozarks - Eureka Springs, Arkansas in June
Tail of the Dragon - Fontana Dam, North Carolina in October
Like many here on the forum, I never had the opportunity to meet George but, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to learn of his passion for the Crossfire and his willingness to help others out.
George will be sadly missed by many, my condolences to the family.

Through private messaging, George helped me with a question I had about LateModel 21's alternator pulley that he was working/testing on with him. As others have mentioned, he was incredibly concise and accurate in his correspondence, and I really respected him. Was a real great asset & resource here. My condolences to all his family as well. A great and humble man.
