WHAT'S HAPPENING with the Gallery ??

"As for the site. I'm having some trouble with the upgrade. The files for the image manipulation aren't working correctly, even after a re-install. I have contacted everyone I can think of to fix it. Hopefully in the next week. That's why the gallery is down. That is also why image uploading isn't working. Once that problem is fixed, hopefully very soon, I will be working on getting everything back to the way it was.

I will be in Miami the rest of the week, but should have internet access to continue working on some of this stuff".

 

Just re-install the old software and walk away ! it worked fine before... I'm sure you backed-up the old site before trying to update it, didn't you ?

First rule of site maintenance back-up first !!!

 

... unless there was a licensing problem with the original set up... like HDDP said the original software was fine...

now if there are severe gremlins mussing about... tell mighty that i can refer to him two or three people that are willing to offer their wisdom and experience.

Something else that's different, at least here today, is that the list of people that visited the forum today... isn't there. Did you notice that?

 

it been like that for a while... i don't care for that change. i prefer the old way.

 

Another thing I just noticed changed it that on the favorite photos area, GoodEnough's picture isn't there anymore, and it was near the beginning, also some of my pics in the gallery aren't there anymore. Guess they got lost in the shuffle.

 

I think we only lost a few photos. I had to delete them, there was something corrupt and it wouldn't let me re-create their thumbnails. If you re-upload them they should work. Also, the main reason for the upgrade was security... there were some pretty big holes in the version we were using. I think it is unlikely that we would have gotten hacked, but you never know.

Also, there are some great new features in the new version... look around a bit and you'll be surprised at what you find. If you use Skype, you can now put in your username and have instant voice chat with other members. I'm going to be making a thread about all the new features soon.
