Default rear view mirror

How difficult is it to change out an '04 mirror and replace it with an '05? The '04 has a round spot in the middle.

should be easy to change out...

the question is ... is the '05 pre-wired for the self-dimming mirror.

No, it's a manual flip mirror. What would I do with the wiring?

my bad i had it backwards... why would you want to get rid of the self dimming mirror??

if you do so... you can tuck any wiring back into the header area.

Do you think it screws on the same way? It's my son's car and it's 60 miles away. Thanks, I appreciate the information.

The self dimming mirror seems to be on even during daylight, making it hard to see out during the day.

I noticed something like that with my old car. I had something hanging from the mirror and it caused the mirror to dim. See if there is something obstructing the view of the sensor on the mirror (front or rear).

I can buy the '04 mirror from you if you want through paypal, so you can get the '05. Let me know.

Has anyone ever wired up an Auto dimming mirror in a car that didn't come with it? In the past I've installed them in other "normal" cars, but I'm hesitant to dig into the electrical system of this one. I love this feature and miss it on this car. I actually have two other aftermarket ones in my garage, but they are too big and too wide angle for this little car so they won't work.
