Manual shift knobs
What have you changed your shift **** to? I've seen the Indy-Cator one, and I like it, I just don't want to go that far into it. What I would like is a silver ball with a black spot on the top, the have AMG in silver in the black spot.

If I didn't have the Indy-cator, it would be this one: http://www.mavenmotorsports.com/
The Maven Mark 1

The Maven Mark 1

The Maven Mark One shift **** was designed by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. The weight, material, shape and texture were all optimized to deliver the finest and most precise shifting action of any **** on the market.
Specifications
Weight - Precision balanced to 472g (1.04lbs). The mass is concentrated at the top of the **** to maximize the pendulum effect while changing gears.
Material - 100% solid medical-grade stainless steel. This alloy will not tarnish or leave a metallic smell on your hands like other *****. It's surface hardness is much higher than aluminum to resist scratching.
Shape - Over 30 revisions were made before the final shape was realized. The contoured shape fits snugly in the palm of your hand. The overall height has been reduced to shorten the shift throw.
Texture - Spun finish controlled to within 64 micro inches (less than 0.000064"). Please see some of the enlarged shots in the gallery for a closer look.
Fitment - The Maven Mark One uses a machine-cut thread to ensure a 100% OEM fitment. The standard M10 (metric 10mm) thread will fit a variety of cars. Many imported models use this style of thread; please see the product page for a list of tested vehicles.

I like how the factory **** not only matches the rest of the silver trim on my Limited Roadster, both inside and out, but how it also has that line cutting through it that follows the rest of the design of the car. So I'm keeping it. But what I did do was to take a very fine artists brush and some Aero Blue touch up paint and paint inside the numbers and lines of the shift pattern. Now it really matches my car!

You know what I worry about when replacing the shift **** with one that doesn't have the shift pattern on it? When we go out and I leave the car to be valet parked... that the valet parker will put the car in 6th and toast my clutch or something. It's probably not very likely, but it's one of those irrational concerns that I have. I have learned never to underestimate the potential for stupidity.
Having said that, I think I like this one: http://www.shopmomo.com/racair.html
