Checked on any threads about the problem I am having. I have a 04 Limited coupe. Interior is black. I have around the Emergency Brak noticed theat the console is peeling with a rubber type substance. It is getting worse and spreading, Anybody else have this problem.

I took some pictures to post on here but sorry S****Y Camera. My daughter has a good one and she is coming this weekend and said she could take some for me and I will try to get them on here. I just talked to my Service manager and they took pictures to send to chrysler, he was of the understanding they would replace the console. it looks like the seat belt buckle is the problem. That is the area it is peeling. Around the emergency brake. I have noticed some pin holes coming on the other side and just a matter of time before it starts to peel worse. And of course this is the first place that I look when I get inside and it just irritates me to no end. My car was stored by the orginal owner for about two years, in a garage at his house, I am not sure if heat could have been the initial problem, Let all of you know how things turn out with Chrysler. Thanks for the comments everybody, it helps.
Just to let you know, it seems to be a common problem with some cars. I suspect that a harsh chemical cleaner is the culprit. I drove a dealer's white roadster, a few weeks ago, it had a black interior and it was peeeling all over the place, it was disgusting and they were asking $20,000 for this piece of crap. I told them of the problems that I encountered and I got a letter from one of the owners of the dealership ( a Ford Dealer) very well known. I answered the letter and told them in no uncertain terms that this was not expected, that whoever detailed the car should have mentioned it. A poor job and as poor a presentation as I have seen. My car looked and ran a hundred times better.
Old thread.. but did anyone happen to taken pictures? I saw the one with CoupeGirl but that wasn't really clear... I think mine is peeling but i'm not sure..?!
Golfdude, it certainly should not do that. I don't know what year your car is but if it's still under warranty, I'd get my butt over to the dealer's and have them replace the whole thing, if need be. What kind of chemicals are you using to clean and prepare your interior? Although it shoudn't do that, it could be corrosion. Any cleaner containing a bleach should be avoided. Silicones are OK and widely used. But, they too can cause a problem if the wrong propellant is used. If the can gets cold and it's a hot day, a problem could arise.
Back when I drove the car in my original post, I was taken aback by how terrible the peeling was in that car. I also know that they (at the factory) spray a rubberized coating on the plastic pieces that form the interior. It may be that it they were not cleaned properly prior to the spray process.

PICS!!
I'm just surprised at how fragile the interior panels are. The same products I use on this car I use on my client's car, and this doesn't happen. Take a look:
Fossil-edition passanger arm rest:

The peeling pics here are very difficult to capture. But an accurate way to describe them is the fact that it looks like dead skin peeling when you get a sunburn:

i am gathering at this stage that the easiest route, if the dealer does not come through, or you are out of warranty, is to repaint.
i am on the verge of either a) repaint b) cover in suede or leather.

I had talked to another Crossfire owner around here that has the same problem.. and his WAS replaced under Warranty.. THe problem is that the dealer was ~1 hr away and honestly it would be a LOT of work to go to that particular dealer to get this replaced.. So I bought a whole new one..
I'd keep trying to find a dealer that WILL replace it.
