hey everyone i have a roadster and have a horrible squeak behind my head when hitting bumps, it is not in the top because it does it top up or down, i can't find it, anyone have a problem like this, sounds like a mouse squeak just when i go over bumps and sometimes even go's away?, i don't know, how do i take apart the inside of my doors anyone? Has to be somewhere in the door, but also is there anything that would be like this behind me toward the trunk, it is not the trunk squeaking though, so somewhere between the driver door and the trunk but no higher than the top lol. thanks.

 

It could be where the seat belt comes out, the when the plastic gets warm it rubbs on the bulkhead i have it on mine, will put somefelt behind when i get the chance to take it to pieces, i think a guy reported this way back and it cured his problem, sounds like the same

Nothing a little K-Y won't fix

 

or some K Y and duct tape and the occasional use of a hammer

 

FP did you apply the K-Y between your ball cap and head, or between your head and the head rest, or between the back of the seat and the bulkhead, or between the bulkhead and the convertible cover? And was it good for you too?

 

I stopped making my wife ride in the trunk and the annoying sound behind me went away.

 

Adjust your seatback foward slightly......the seat is rubbing against the plastic surround for the bulkhead.

great feedback guys, actually it does sound like where the seat belt comes out, it does it with top down and up so its not the top i totally went through everything i could today without tearing everything apart and didn't find it, i will have to take that apart tomorrow by the seat belt where am i supposed to put this felt?, also how should i take the interior of my door apart without breaking stuff i would like to check that too. i already tried moving my seat up and passengers and that didn't work. any more opinions would be great, and trust me i will find it, it is driving me nuts. wierd how sometimes it is worse than others. ill spray a hose of ky in everywhere if i have to, lol

 

k just drove down the side road with lotts of bumps with my door open and now i think its coming from the back wheel somewhere its dark right now but in the morning ill have to check it out, what would just be squeaking like that back there, im serious it sounds like a little mouse is sitting somewhere. can i spray some stuff i saw at walmart for stop squeaking on like my struts and springs and stuff all up in there above the wheel, im seriously about to go nuts and spray everything.
