driver side interior door handle
i did a quick redneck fix for this. I have a roll of that aluminum tape that you peel the back off. I cut a 1" X 8" strip, and just taped over the place where the chrome coating is peeling off. It can't bee seen, and if it really bothers me, I can get those Corvette black leather grab handle covers that OC xfire suggested above. No more cuts.

I put a strip of rubberized tape over the back side of my limited two years ago (after my boss cut his hand on the passenger door) and my SRT6 a year ago. No one sees the fix, and it has worked like a charm. No way I would ever bother changing the handle as the replacement will do the same thing.
I purchased a black leather grab handle cover for my C5 Vette a couple years ago, and it just so happens that it fits the interior grab handles on the Crossfire nicely! I purchased two for my Crossfire, and they are functional and nice looking! (they wrap around the door pull and attach with Velcro). I've NEVER had to think twice about the material peeling off! Once attached, there's about 2-3" on each side of the leather grab handle that still shows the Crossfire's aluminum-looking material.
They come in a variety of colors...I purchased black, which is the most expensive at $19.99 per handle.

Definitely worth the investment to prevent those cuts in your hands!
Hope that helps!

I like the Leather Wrap idea. Although a little more expensive, I found a better selection here...
Corvette 1997-04 handle wraps - RedlineGoods leather shift boot store
Much better selection of material, plus you can get them in 2 tone with your selection of threading and other custom work.
Make sure you select the grab handle covers and NOT the door pull covers as the grabs are longer. $19.00 ea.

I have the chipped chrome on my car and it came with the leather wraps shown in the attached thread. I sanded mine down.
I'll give them to the winner of a draw to be held tomorrow night if I get more than one request for them, honest draw with no favors shown.
Free shipping in North America.
I think that's fair as some may not be looking at the forum at the moment.

I ordered a pair of the Blue Italian leather covers w/ silver stitching from RedlineGoods for the Aero Blue SRT. I'll post pics of the look and fit once I get them installed.
Heck, that was too easy! These should look nice in the Graphite Limited. I thank you kindly.

I noticed one had been blackened a bit and the one that had been fitted to my car was a lot lighter.
They may not have been the best when I saw them again, you should have received them a month ago.
I never heard back from you, did you ever get these covers I sent you? Maybe you can re-gift them if you have no need for them now.

I would like to know if you got them, they were free, no shipping and absolutely no cost to you.
I guess they were not up to your standard as you purchased a nicer set. If you were not going to use them you should have told me and saved me some time and money.
Just let me know if you got them, it has been three months now.
I repeat, did you ever get these?

). Thanks once again Dave.
Call it a redneck fix if you want, but I used a piece of clear packing tape on the back side and cut it along the groove on the top. To look at it you cannot tell if it is there and the handle is smooth, what more could you ask for?
