Blower Resistor Resistor - where to get it !
I replaced my fan blower controller (resistor block) with a Mercedes part I found on ebay: "2108206210 SLK320 CLK430 CLK55 SLK55".
It looks identical but the fan speeds for each setting are much higher than before (I wonder if Chrysler has different internal resistor values). The new Low setting is similar to the No. 3 or 4 setting from before. It's way too high for a low setting. I might put a resistor in series to bring the entire thing down. Need to determine what value to use. Bummer.
But, the fan is no longer intermittent.

HI all,
I just got my Roadster 2 days ago, the heater/ac fan wouldn't work.
The little light on the end of the fan speed indicator wouldn't even light up.
Dummy me, since the fan didn't turn on, I forgot about it and left the fan turned to level 4.
About 10 minutes later I smelled an electrical burning smell, had to pull off the road
as there was white smoke coming out of the fresh air intake below the windshield
and smoke was filling the passenger cabin.
I figured out that the heater blower was the problem, have followed this thread to learn how to fix it,
removed the Blower Resister and will remove the Blower Motor and fan next.
My question is:
I know that the Blower Motor is bad, as I see black melted stuff on the motor,
but how do I know if I need the Blower Resister too?
Thanks,

Turns out I needed the resistor/regulator also,
found it at:
Your Parts Search Returned 1 Part(s)
for $66, or the Behr part for much more, take your pick!

I was driving today and turned on the AC and fan, there was a horrible burning smell coming through the vents. Now, the fan will not npower on at all. Does it sound like I need the resistor? Thanks.
I have been trying to figure out where the part is located for days...I've opened mostly everything on both the passenger and drivers side, and still wasn't able to figure out where if is located...if anyone could please explain where it is I would appreciate it...is it on the drivers side or passengers side? I even looked at the instructions and couldn't figure out what "lower instrumental panel is"? Thank you

Use this link to help. It is the bottom panel under the glove box on the passenger side. It is not hard to do. I've had mine out before, take this opportunity to change the cabin filter too.

You mean Torx maybe Phillips headed screws.
Yes the key here is not in or through the glove box but underneath.
