My 2006 convertible has an oil smell since new. Other members have reported this, but I have read no clear cut solution. I have a theory: The air intake grate on the car is below the windshield and just above it is the windshield drain grate. This water drain grate feeds a hose that on my car stops 2 inches above the transmission bell housing and about 2 inches from the transmission breather (small black grommet). The air currents around the base of the windshield could very well be drawing the air up from the windshield drain. I covered the windshield drain with shipping tape and it did seem to improve. Any thoughts.
There is no visible oil leaks or oil smell around the engine with the hood up .

 

Welcome to the forum and congrats on getting a great car,,,as for the smell you might want to put the hood in the vertical position so you can inspect the back of the enjine for any leaks around the back of the valve covers also take the enjine cover off for a better view.... i'm sure more will chime in here with other ideas, good luck i'm sure its only minor...
